Alan Katz

Vice President

Alan Katz is vice president of Hunt Energy Enterprises.

Before joining HEE, Katz was CTO and managing director at WR Hambrecht+Co and was a partner of WR Hambrecht Ventures I and II. He also previously worked for Texas Instruments in Dallas in various capacities, including Director of TI Ventures and as an R&D manager and individual contributor. Prior to TI, he worked at Exxon Production Research Company (now Exxon-Mobil Upstream Research) in the rock physics group. He is the author or co-author of 9 issued patents and 30 refereed journal articles.

Katz serves on the board of Decision Economics, a macro-economic advisory firm, and is a board advisor to Vizu. Other selected venture investments include Whiteglove House Call Health, Nexabit (acquired by Lucent), Sierra Wireless (IPO), Digital Think (IPO), Netboost (acquired by Intel), Snaptrack (acquired by Qualcomm), and Internap (IPO).

Katz earned his PhD at Stanford University and a BA from the University of Chicago.
