Robert Maher

Vice President
Robert Maher is vice president of Hunt Energy Enterprises, LLC.
Since 1988, Maher has helped lead early stage start-up ventures to convert innovative ideas into commercial successes. He has held numerous executive positions in the companies, and has experienced the life cycle from concept to public offering and acquisition. Recently, he was a co-founder, chief technology officer, and Board Director for Netrake Corporation, which was venture funded by Austin Ventures, Trinity Ventures, TL Ventures, and Prism Ventures. Netrake delivered specialized global security solutions for internet applications, and was acquired by Audiocodes (AUDC Nasdaq).
Prior to Netrake, Maher was the 4th employee and became vice president of engineering at Cyrix, a venture funded by Sevin Rosen Funds and Interwest Partners. Cyrix was the first microprocessor company to develop an original x86 processor to compete with Intel Corporation. Cyrix IPO’d on Nasdaq and was later acquired by National Semiconductor. Maher started his career at Texas Instruments, where he held engineering and technical positions of increasing responsibility.
More recently, he has been working in the energy field in both conventional fuel technologies and cleantech. Among his activities in these areas have been desulfurization technologies for crude oil, signal processing technologies for advanced exploration, and technologies for energy enterprise networks.
Maher received his undergraduate BS degrees in microbiology and electrical engineering from Michigan State, and MS in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has been granted over 20 U.S. patents.
