President

Clay Sell is president of Hunt Energy Horizons, LLC, a company strategically focused on profitable power generation development opportunities beyond oil and gas in several global markets. Hunt Energy Horizons is a subsidiary of Hunt Consolidated, Inc., a Dallas-based energy, real estate, and investment corporation controlled by Ray L. Hunt.

Sell joined Hunt in 2008 after three years at the U.S. Department of Energy where he served from 2005 to 2008 as Deputy Secretary of Energy. During this period, he was key to the Bush administation's role in enacting landmark energy legislation in 2005 and 2007. He also served as chief operating officer of the Department of Energy, and was responsible for 115,000 federal and contractor employees spread across 17 national energy and science research laboratories, a special weapons complex, four federal utilities and dozens of major ongoing environmental remediation projects. He previously worked at the White House as a special assistant to President George W. Bush, serving on the staff of the National Economic Council and in the Office of Legislative Affairs, where he coordinated the development and implementation of the administration's energy policy. Sell also held senior staff positions with the Committee on Appropriations in the United States Senate and with Congressman Mac Thornberry of Texas.

Sell is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and Texas Tech University.
