Neil Smoak

Senior Vice President

Neil Smoak is senior vice president of Hunt Oil Company and president of FrogWorks, LLC. He has held various management positions throughout the engineering and drilling/production operations groups. This included the design and construction of the Peru LNG plant and pipeline, launched in January 2007.

He continues to provide oversight for the PLNG project work, and also oversees FrogWorks, LLC, investigating and pursuing opportunities in a variety of emerging technologies.

Previously, he was senior vice president of Fina Inc. For nearly 15 years, Smoak was in charge of U.S. exploration and production, including Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. He started his career at Humble Oil & Refining (now Exxon), and also spent several years working for smaller independents.

Smoak is a registered engineer in four states and a long-term member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Clemson University.
